Golden rules

Always Remember

💳
Use buyer-protected payments
PayPal Goods & Services and Venmo Goods & Services both offer buyer protection. Never use Zelle, Cash App, wire, or Venmo Friends & Family — those are gone the moment you send.
📱
Tickets in your app first
For digital tickets — don't pay until the Ticketmaster or AXS transfer lands in YOUR account. Screenshots can be faked.
📋
Demand the receipt
Ask for the original order confirmation email. Legit sellers have it. Scammers stall, make excuses, or send doctored images.
🏟️
Meet at the venue
If buying physical tickets, meet the seller at will call on show day. Pay only after the box office confirms the tickets are valid.
🔍
Google the profile
Search the seller's name + "scam" or "ticket." Many scammers have been reported before. Takes 30 seconds.
🚨
Report scammers
If you got scammed or spotted a fake listing, report it to Facebook AND file with the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.

Buyer Scripts

Not sure what to ask a seller? Use these word-for-word messages. Scammers fold fast when asked the right questions.

Opening message — send this first
Hey! Still have the tickets available? Before we get into it, a few quick questions: Can you send me a screenshot of your original order confirmation from Ticketmaster or wherever you bought them? And will you be doing an official transfer through the app — not a PDF or screenshot of the barcode? Trying to make sure we're both protected. Thanks!
